1. Cape Henlopen State Park
Whether you prefer the comforts of an RV or like to rough it by primitive camping, any camper is welcome at Cape Henlopen’s campground. Tucked away among pine-covered dunes, the campground includes 12 camping cabins, 20 walk-in tent campsites next to the Walking Dunes Trail, and sites for big RVs with full hookups. All campers have access to the playground, dump stations, recycling center, and bathhouses with showers. On a hot summer day, the campground’s shaded campsites are appreciated, and the short stroll to the beach puts the heat and excitement of the Atlantic Ocean at your fingertips.
2. Deep Branch Family Campground
The Deep Branch Family Campground has open and wooded sites with hookups for RVs and tent campers and is only a short distance from the Atlantic Ocean. There are restrooms with showers, a laundry room, a dump station, and a playground on the property. While not immediately on the beach, this campground is close to everything the area offers, including beaches for swimming and sunbathing, fishing in Delaware Bay, outlet malls for shopping, and various local restaurants.
3. Delaware Seashore State Park
Two campgrounds are located on either side of the Indian River Inlet in Delaware Seashore State Park, one of the state’s most well-liked beach camping destinations. Larger campers should go to the North Inlet campsite, which has both conventional sites with hookups and three-point hookups. Both campgrounds are within walking distance of the beach and are open all year. The campgrounds are close to restaurants, a marina, bicycling and walking routes, and provide restrooms and laundry facilities to campers.
